Organolithium reagents are synthetically useful because they are great nucleophiles, strong bases, and effective catalysts for radical and anionic polymerizations. However, they often catch fire in the presence of air. To control these hazards, they are dissolved at low concentrations in ether solutions, which lessen the hazards, but are themselves dangerous.
The SiGNa organolithium materials provide an extensive suite of nucleophiles that do not suffer from many of the traditional limitations. The SiGNa method increases selectivity and yield, while easing process setup, separation, and workup.
Bottle-able solid powdery reagent loaded up to 10 mmol/g; storable under nitrogen with infinite shelf life; extended range of organolithium nucleophiles
